Hurzeler wants Baleba to stay but Milner must 'wait and see'

Fabian Hurzeler says he "100 per cent" wants Carlos Baleba to be at Brighton next season, but wouldn't comment on the future of James Milner

Baleba has been linked with a move to Manchester United and having started the last four matches, he was benched against them for Sunday's 3-0 defeat.

Hurzeler said the midfielder was dropped due to tiredness but wants him to stay at the club.

However, when asked about the future of Milner, 40, whose contract expires this summer, Hurzeler said: "Let's wait for the next days, because I think first of all, we really want to speak about the season.

"We want to reflect everyone's performance. I think it's very important that we give every player individual feedback and in the feedback, the James Milner topic and we'll see what happens."

Carrick predicts Fernandes will stay at Man Utd

Michael Carrick believes Bruno Fernandes will remain at Manchester United this summer.

Fernandes broke the Premier League's assists record by recording his 21st of the season as United beat Brighton 3-0 on Sunday.

The 31-year-old turned down a move to Saudi Arabia last summer before playing a key part in United's third-placed finish this season.

And when Carrick was asked how confident he is and how important it would be that Fernandes stays, he said: "Yeah, he's such an influence. He's been a captain and led by example in different ways. I've got no reason to think otherwise.

"I love what he's done and he loves being here. I can see that. I know he wants to start every game because he's enjoying his football, which is fantastic."

De Zerbi: Spurs must build a top team

Roberto De Zerbi says Tottenham must build a "top team" over the summer.

Spurs avoided Premier League relegation with a final-day win over Everton, finishing 17th for the second season running.

Asked about his hopes for the future, De Zerbi told Your Site: "Next season we have to build a top, top, top, top team.

"We have to bring, I don't know how many, but other top first-level [players] because it is right to give satisfaction for the fans and the club because the board suffered this season.

"We deserve something more because we suffered too much."

Bowen 'hurting' but vows to guide West Ham back to Premier League

West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen has vowed to guide the club back to the Premier League following their relegation to the Championship.

West Ham beat Leeds 3-0 in the final game of the season but Tottenham's 1-0 win against Everton sealed their fate.

Speaking to Your Site, Bowen was asked about his future at the club, where he said: "I am under contract here, I have been here six and a half years.

"There are going to be rumours, talk and nonsense. But ultimately, what I see is getting this club back in the Premier League.

"It is where it deserves to be; it is a really low moment but we have to bounce back.

"I have had some really good moments but this is really difficult. You never know what the future holds. For me, I want to see this club back in the Premier League."

Howe unsure over Gordon future

Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe doesn't know whether Anthony Gordon has played his final game for the club, amid ongoing interest in the England winger.

Gordon's future has been the subject of much speculation for weeks amid interest from Bayern Munich and beyond, with Howe previously eluding to a potential transfer this summer.

The 25-year-old was an unused substitute in all of Newcastle's final four games of the season, and was overlooked in favour of 18-year-old Sean Neave late on in their 2-0 defeat at Fulham in their final game.

When asked whether Gordon's Newcastle career was over, he told Your Site: "I dont know. You can never predict whats going to happen.

"He goes to the World Cup now, so we wish him well."

Man Utd in advanced talks for Ederson

Latest from Your Site News' Dan Khan, Vik Varange and Dharmesh Sheth:

Manchester United are in advanced talks with Atalanta over Brazilian midfielder Ederson.

There is still a gap in the player's valuation between the two clubs with Atalanta wanting around 45m, but there is confidence a club-to-club agreement at a lower price will be reached soon, with the Brazilian out of contract next summer.

Personal terms are not thought to be an issue. United have held a long-term interest in Ederson during his time at Atalanta.

Atalantas manager Raffaele Palladino confirmed over the weekend that Ederson remained an unused substitute in their draw against Fiorentina because a major club is following him.

United continue to do background work on other midfield targets, including Brightons Carlos Baleba and West Hams Mateus Fernandes.

Man Utd 'close to signing Tonali'

Man Utd are close to completing a move for Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali, according to Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

The outlet claims the club are finalising a deal for Atalanta midfielder Ederson, but adds that Tonali is set to move to Old Trafford too, with Juventus also interested but unable to match his financial demands.

The Italian was linked with a move to Arsenal in January and his agent Guiseppe Riso later namechecked the Gunners and Man City as destinations for a potential future move.

Your Site News previously reported Tonali is on Man Utd's long list of midfielders this summer - with two expected to join in the upcoming transfer window.

Also included are Adam Wharton and Bournemouth duo Tyler Adams and Alex Scott as well as Lille's Ayoub Bouaddi and Christos Mouzakitis of Olympiakos.

Rangers in advanced talks to sign Hearts captain Shankland

Latest from Your Site News' Sahil Jaidka:

Rangers are in advanced talks over a deal to sign Hearts captain Lawrence Shankland

It is understood the Ibrox club are keen to land the 30-year-old before he departs for the World Cup with Scotland.

Talks are thought to be progressing well over an initial two-year deal, with option to extend, which would see the striker move from Edinburgh to Glasgow.

Shankland, who scored 20 goals last season, has been linked with a move to the club he grew up supporting but previous bosses failed to move for the player.

Jakirovic: Hull will need better players

Hull head coach Sergej Jakirovic speaking to Your Site after winning promotion:

"We will try to add better players than we have now. But I think these main players who bring us to the Premier League they can stay, they can help us.

"We have to have better players than we have. I think Sunderland's recipe is great. Because they brought dynamic players with pace and speed. You can build this type of team.

On if the chairman will spend: "We are on the same page since day one. I don't see any problems there. This is great money for the club. We're trying to use this money very wisely."
