Atleti enter race for Bernardo Silva

Latest from Your Site News' Lyall Thomas:

Atletico Madrid are another club understood to be in the mixfor Bernardo Silva on a free transfer.

Your Site News reported in April that Barcelona and Juventus remain among the clubs who want to sign the Manchester City captain, who is set to leave the Etihad when his contract expires in the summer.

The 31-year-old has long been linked with moves to Saudi Arabia or MLS in the United States too.

One source has told Your Site News his dream is to play for Barcelona, however he has not yet made a decision.

Bees keen on signing El Mala

Latest from Your Site News' Lyall Thomas:

Brentford are keen on FC Koln winger Said El Mala.

They are one of a number of clubs who like the 19-year-old and exploring the chance to sign him.

El Mala been very impressive in the Bundesliga this term with 13 goals. He has even been tipped for a surprise inclusion in Julian Nagelsmann's Germany squad for the World Cup.

Brentford, who could yet have European football to offer next season, want to strengthen this summer with new wingers, midfielders, centre-backs and a left-back. They have already signed young centre-back Jannick Schuster from Red Bull Salzburg.

Atletico want Cucurella this summer

Latest from Your Site News' Lyall Thomas:

Atletico Madrid want to sign Marc Cucurella from Chelsea this summer.

The left-back is of long-term interest to Mathieu Alemany, who wanted him at Barcelona and is now the sporting director at Atletico.

Barca retain an interest in the player too but plan to make the loan deal of Joao Cancelo from Al Hilal a permanent switch.

That is in part because the focus of Barcelona's ability to spend will be on a new number nine following the departure of Robert Lewandowski.

Atletico striker Julian Alvarez is Barca's dream target for the position - and who they sign may have implications for Marcus Rashford.

Rashford is keen to stay at Barca and the club are interested in a second loan arrangement. They have a 26m option to buy him in the current loan but are currently reluctant to use it.

McClaren appointed to newly-created Rotherham role

Steve McClaren has been appointed Rotherham's new head of football after their relegation to League Two.

The former England boss' first task in this newly created role will be to lead the search for a new first-team head coach or manager.

McClaren, who resigned as Jamaica head coach in November last year after failing to qualify for the expanded World Cup, "will define performance expectations and the football philosophy" for the new Millers boss.

Cresswell among Brighton's centre-back targets for summer

Latest from Your Site News' Lyall Thomas and Elliot Cook:

Brighton remain interested signing Toulouse centre-back Charlie Cresswell this summer.

The 23-year-old was of interest to them in January and is one of a number of centre-backs the club are currently working on for the upcoming transfer window.

Brighton are keen to sign at least one new centre-back, with Adam Webster poised to leave at the end of his contract. There is also anticipated to be interest in the impressive Jan Paul Van Hecke.

Cresswell, who joined Toulouse from Leeds for just 1.5m, had interest from West Ham and Crystal Palace in January too.

Brighton are also looking to strengthen at right-back, central-midfield, on the wing and up front.

Shaw: Manchester is my home - but I can't control my future

Man City striker Khadija 'Bunny' Shaw says Manchester is 'her home' - but adds conversations still need to take place with the club.

The Jamaica international won her third successive Golden Boot this season as Man City won the WSL title, and could yet add the FA Cup to their achievements in next Sunday's final.

However, Shaw has been linked with a move away from Man City, with media reports touting Chelsea as a potential destination.

Speaking to Your Site News at the FWA Awards on Tuesday, Shaw said of her future: "Ive always said Manchester is my home.

"Theyve welcomed me from the beginning and now that were at the stage where were reaching our objectives, winning trophies, and we still have a big final to come. Well see what happens after that.

"Im a type of player thats calm and my performances speak for themselves. I can control that but I cant control whether I stay at Man City or I move on.

"That depends on the conversations weve have with us and the club, but my performances are what I can control."

Pep exit 'opens door' for Rodri to join Real Madrid

Manchester City star Rodri is once again on the front cover of Spanish publication Marca, which is claiming the midfielder is now "eager" to join Real Madrid because of Pep Guardiola's exit.

The front cover shows an upside down image of Rodri with the words "vendria de cabeza", which translates as "Rodri would come headfirst".

"Rodri has long been Real Madrid's great unfulfilled dream", Marca writes, and "Guardiola's departure opens a door that for years remained completely closed".

Guardiola, who is expected to leave City at the end of the season, brought Rodri to the Premier League from Atletico Madrid, who, Marca reports, were always unwilling to sell to Real Madrid.

Marca claim Rodri's name comes up in discussions at Real Madrid in every transfer window as the solution to reorganise their midfield.

And now they are reporting Rodri is "very keen" to wear the Real Madrid shirt following news of Guardiola's exit emerging, with the Spanish club believing a transfer could be "viable".

Atletico Madrid agree deal in principle for Gomes

Atletico Madrid have agreed a deal in principle with Wolves to sign midfielder Joao Gomes

A fee totalling 39m (45m) has been settled between the clubs and work is being finalised to make him an Atletico player when the transfer window re-opens next month.

Gomes is set to say farewell to Wolves fans in their final game of the season away at also-relegated Burnley on Sunday.

The 25-year-old Brazilian, who did not make Carlo Ancelotti's World Cup squad, signed for Wolves from Flamengo in 2023 and played more than 100 times for the West Midlands club.

'Man Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea keeping tabs on Jarrod Bowen'

Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United are all interested in Jarrod Bowen as rival clubs monitor West Hams financial situation, according to The Guardian.

The report claims West Ham could be forced into major sales if they are relegated, with the club needing to raise more than 100m.

Bowen has registered 21 combined goals and assists this season, with Liverpool reportedly a long-term admirer of the England international.

Manchester United are said to value his versatility across the frontline, while Chelseas interest is described as less advanced despite their admiration for the West Ham captain.

The report adds that Chelsea believe Bowen could provide competition on the right wing and cover across the forward line.

Martinez: I made the right decision to stay at Aston Villa

Emi Martinez says he made the right decision to stay at Aston Villa after a move away from the club didn't materialise last summer.

Martinez was seen in tears as he waved to Villa Park during the club's last home game of the season.

A summer of speculation followed, with Manchester United among the reported clubs keen on signing Martinez up until deadline day.

However, Martinez has continued as Villa's No 1 this season, making 43 appearances and keeping 13 clean sheets as the club look forward to a first European final since 1982.

Asked about staying at the club, after being in tears last season, Martinez said:

I say goodbye, and I cry when I left my family in Argentina to go to England as well. And I'm still with my family nowadays.

"Sometimes football can change; managers can come in and go. In football, people move around the place.

" I have full respect and love for the club, I have a commitment to Aston Villa, I'm a World Cup winner with Aston Villa.

"I won the Golden Gloves with Aston Villa. I will always and forever love this club.

"No matter what. One day I'm gonna retire. So someone else will have to be between the sticks.

"I'm in a European final, we are in the Champions League again. With all the circumstances, the ups and downs, the budget that we had this year. We were the lowest spenders in the Premier League, but we got a top coach.

"We've got a top captain. We got a decent core of the team and when we stay together, we fight together, we can beat anybody, so I'm really proud to stay. I made the right choice."
